Topic: Development of Nationalism
Goal: Your task is to produce an Advocacy Campaign Video about the practical applications of Nationalism with today’s pressing issues.
Role: You will assume the role of an official delegate to the Southeast Asian Youth Leadership Program (SEAYLP 2022). The first plenary session of the scholarship requires you to critically analyze and interpret the application of Nationalism through the production of an Advocacy Campaign Video.
Audience:

Your audience are your co-attendees in the SEAYLP 2022, your classmates, schoolmates, teachers in your school, and a larger audience of people interested in the practical application of Nationalism.

You need to convince the audience that your work displays scholarly merits both in research, factual accuracy, creativity, and practicability.
Situation: You are commissioned by your school to participate in the Southeast Asian Youth Leadership Program (SEAYLP 2022) and your first task in the scholarship is to produce an Advocacy Campaign Video on Nationalism.
You are to produce an Advocacy Campaign Video on Nationalism worth 1-2 minutes which must be relevant, engaging, and effective in using the principles of nationalism to respond to today’s pressing issues.
The following are the applicable themes/societal issues to choose from. (Choose one only.)

Product/Performance and Purpose:

You need to create an Advocacy Campaign Video in order to inform and appraise your peers in the importance of solving today’s pressing issues using nationalism.

Through this Advocacy Campaign Video, you need to apply critical analysis to show an understanding of the importance of Nationalism in solving your chosen societal issue.
Standards and Criteria:

Your performance needs to give people a wholistic understanding on how a citizen should display his/her sense of nationalism to solve today’s pressing issues.

Your work will be judged by a person knowledgeable in the relevant ways and practical applications of Nationalism.

Your product should meet and/or exceed the criteria as stated in the rubrics provided, as well as comply with the rules and guidelines.

Performance Output: Advocacy Campaign Video
Time Allocation: minimum of 1 minute, maximum of 2 minutes
Format: Recorded Video Footage
File Type: submit via MOV, MP4, or AVI file format. Use best resolution possible, HD 720p/1080p is recommended.
Submission: Google Drive Link

Upload to the provided Google Drive Folder found in the submission tab.

Copy the link to your SOUL submission tab as “online text submission.”

Click “Submit.”
Materials:

Camera, PC, Laptop, Smartphone, Tablet (with HD video and sound recording capability).

Digital Pictures of Nationalist/Nationalistic Figures, Events, Situations, etc. (if applicable).

Video editing or video manipulation software (if applicable).

Script or notes to act as basis of your video recording.
(Note: For English, this is considered as Product and will be submitted in a separate submission tab.)

Any other material or device as deemed necessary.
Rules & Guidelines:
1) The Performance will be scored using different criteria for English and Social Studies as Product/Performance for the 4th Quarter of SY 2021-2022. Refer to rubric for scoring.
2) A maximum of 10 school days (April 25-May 6) will be allocated for this product. Deadline is set at 11:59pm on May 6, 2022. Actual product making will start on April 26 with initial research, brainstorming, and drafting.
3) You are expected to make the product on your own. You may ask for ideas and indirect guidance from friends, family, and parents but the bulk of the work should be on you. Having someone do it for you totally defeats the purpose of this product, as no transfer of learning will be validated.
4) Make sure that you are the subject of the video, since you are the one expressing the advocacy. You can insert visuals or objects inside your video recording as long as it is complimentary to your advocacy.
5) Please wear decent attire while recording the video and practice proper hygiene. Modulate your voice and make sure you show confidence and good posture. All of these will make your advocacy convincing.
